AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT (04/24/2012)

Author Spotlight is a new feature on Joyce's Choices. Occasionally a blog reader submits a name of a favorite author and I will highlight it on the blog.

This week, blog reader Marlene P. from Massachusetts recommended Daniel Silva, a best selling American author of 14 thriller and espionage novels.

The main character, Gabriel Allon, an art restorer, assassin, and spy is the protagonist and is featured in most of Daniel Silva's thrillers.

Silva was a former journalist, CNN producer, Middle East correspondent and started his first novel THE UNLIKELY SPY in 1994. When published it became a New York Times best seller and he then decided to pursue a full time writing career.

His novels MOSCOW RULES (2008), THE DEFECTOR (2009), and THE REMBRANDT AFFAIR (2010) became instant best sellers. His newest novel is THE FALLEN ANGEL. (2012)

Daniel Silva is married to NBC Today Show's national correspondent, Jamie Gangel. They live in Washington, D. C. with their two children.

Marlene P. added that these books are especially exciting on tape.
